we needed a little break from our big water fishing expeditions so sunday we headed over to our honey hole...the pond in front of the pizza hut on rt 10 in ledgewood (sorry about the spot burn).

we got there early, hungry as hell, but the hut wasn't open yet so we drilled up some holes and started jigging waiting for them to open. the bite started out slower than our waitress from the last trip there, but soon the bite got hotter than a deep dish! We were ripping perch like bread sticks; the perch were deeper in the weeds than we would be in the salad bar later!

We had plenty of hogs we even did some c&r, perch up to 13"...but that wasn't the best part...When the hut finally opened and i went inside to get us a meat lover's supreme pie i hear my friend yelling for help! i rushed out to see him, rod bent in half with a hell of a weight on the end of it!

I stuck my arm in the hole and grabbed on to a rubber lipped fatso carp...but i pulled up and it got stuck in the bottom of the hole! my buddy then took a try and as he yanked up the fish squirted out just enough poop to squeeze through the hole! yikes that was the closest call i've ever seen of a fish not fitting through an ice hole!

man what an experience, what a day! we went back to catching hog perch while enjoying our deep dish supreme...the perfect ending to a perfect day! Next time i'm bringing a grill...grilled perch pizza anyone!?
