Thumbs up Monsoon Mixed Bag - Upper Delaware 10/4/14

My dad and I floated with our ace Upper Delaware River guide Mike on Saturday. Forecast called for rain all day, and that's about what we got. However, the overcast skies put the fish in a feeding mood, and we laid the smackdown on multiple species during the course of the float. We totaled about 15 rainbows to 18", five browns to 19.5", 10 walleye to 20", and six or seven smallies to 16".

Hot lures for trout were gold spinners, including Swiss Swings and Blue Fox. The walleyes (and the big brown of the day) were chowing down on Keitech swim baits slow-rolled along the bottom. The smallies were hitting just about everything when we found them. Fish were spread out, and we found them in shallow riffles, rocky runs, ad deep pools alike. We started in Buckingham and pulled out at Long Eddy. Water was low and clear, had to hop out of the boat and pull it through a couple of shallow spots.

A few pics below. Didn't take many, as I didn't want the rain to ruin my camera. Video is on its way.

Low and Gin clear. A cloudy day is what you need to catch all day.
