Default Slime dart and a slob

A slob for me at least. 19 inches 3 1/2 lbs. Pickerel measured 20 inches and looked pretty healthy except for a wound on its side that looked similar to the wounds I saw on some of the pics of bass caught last year by some of the guys on this site. Anyway both were caught pretty close to shore and there was a lot of ruckus going on along the shoreline and weed beds. There was also a small bass spinning in its bed ten feet in front of me keeping me company.

Are the wounds up by the spine on the pickerel? It looks almost like the back set of talons on an osprey or some such bird. There is a breeding pair at my local pond that catch more fish than I do.

It was one circular wound about dead center on the side kinda like a leach latched onto it.

Couple nice fish!!

Last pickerel I caught had some damage too. I was assuming it was some war wounds from spawning? Looked pretty bad but she hit hard, fought well, and swam away strong.....
