Default Northern nj Passaic river fishing?

I've never fished the passaic or even been on the river before so I don't know what to expect. I don't have a kayak/boat and there doesn't seem to be a lot of acces along the river around essex county atleast, most of it seems to be peoples backyards or in the back of stores. I noticed a lot of people don't like sharing spots but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the corner of river road and eagle rock ave is a good place to start. I've seen people fishing there but it looks like a really small area. It does seem heavily fished and has enough room for like 2 cars (http://i.share.pho.to/ac444010_o.png).

The other spot close to me is apparently a boat launch area but other than that I don't know anything about it. Its off the bridge near the home depot, but the problem is its right off the highway and looks kind of hard to get to. The screenshot (http://i.share.pho.to/6aa20ce8_o.png) shows a little grey area I assume to launch boats, but its right off the road. Has anyone been to this area and how did you get to it? There's a car dealership near it but there's some really thick/swamp woods to get to the river.

Those are the only to options that I know of. I'd like somewhere away from the roads but I can't find any on google maps. I've never fished any river before but I have heard there's a good amount of largemouth in it.

Really? Doesn't seem to be much of an issue here. Most of us are willing to share a quite a lot of info with fellow members.
I don't have any experience on the Passaic, it's on the list but I'm sure some of the other guys can help you out.
Welcome to the site it's the Best One out there and the more you get to know "The Crew" I'm sure you'll agree!
Try and show up at a few of the Meet & Greets and meet the guys and have a great time!!!

Have fished both spots. Both are good from land. Dont be afraid to explore or bushwack a bit too. All the successful guys seem to do it, myself included. You'll find fish pretty much everywhere in this river.

Google Maps can be your best friend. I've spent hours using it to follow the rivers path, to check out bridges, pools, parking lots, clearings, etc. Bing maps birdseye view zooms you in even more.
