Default Hybrid carp-dolphin?

Saw the strangest thing today... Was fishing in a little lake (which is really more of a big pond). All of the sudden I see what must have been a 30-pound carp do three successive arcing leaps clear out of the water - the kind you see dolphins doing off of the beach sometimes. What the hell? Quite a comical scene. I think I'm going to have to take a run at carp one of these days. I imagine that fella would have tugged a little harder than the couple of dink bass I pulled in before the rain started...

Every time I have gone to Spruce Run I have encountered the same thing...Carp Jumping out of the shallows, the deep, and in between. Have seen some really monsters there and now I always carry my bow just in case I get a clear shot at a monster.

I think it's a mating ritual. I hate it because any time a carp jumps I think it's a huge bass haha

One did that to me in the Passaic river a couple of weeks ago right at my feet. Startled the pants off me.
