I started between the Hockhockson Road bridge and the falls, water was way low and gunked up like mid-summer. Predictably, no trout to be had. To make matters worse, a retaining wall is being installed along the road which is throwing a lot of sediment into the water. The deepest hole on that stretch is getting silted in.
Tried the falls to see if I could scratch something out. Caught a little pickerel, as well as two stockie brookies. The brookies graciously accepted my invitation to breakfast.

Another guy was there drowning worms, he got two brookies and a decent sized sucker. I was out of there by the time the sun really started hitting the water.
I've never seen the Hock this low in spring. We need a solid couple days of rain.

Now the sun is just starting to climb up over the treetops,
And it's gonna be a beautiful day, that's plain to see.
But I won't be around at all, so don't even bother to call,
Cause on a day like today there's one place I gotta be:
