Default Actually bought a licence and went spinning for trout.

Armed with a new SHIMANO SYNCOPATE SC1000FG ultra-light spinning reel loaded with 10 pound power pro and 20 feet of 5x tippit, as well as a new selection of Rapalas and Mepps, I hit the So. Branch for my first "spinning for trout foray" in probably 25 years.

Having been a die hard fly guy for years.....and having not done that in 4 season, I was a bit, shall we say, rusty.

The new stocking foot waders with felt sole boots performed very well and my casting accuracy/distance were also better than expected. however the fish do have a few rocks festooned with new shiny ornaments to admire.

I lost one decent fish, had some nice follows on the Rapala Glass minnow and turned/flashed a number of others as well.

According to the 3 guys I talked to yesterday was an off day with only one guy getting 1 fish to the net.

Of the 5 or 6 offerings I tossed, by far, the 1/4oz Rapala Husky Jerk Glass Minnow got the most interest. I just ordered 8 more from Cabells

Too funny.....I know the feeling! Sound like every sweet water outing I have, I'm forever decorating rocks with pretty lures or plugs......there is a tree in the south branch that I already have a date with this summer, say mid july when the river is real low.
