Got out last Thursday on 8/1 for a morning of fishing with Dad. Starting to home in on the locations and presentations for the Lake Trout. We started at 6:30, but the best bite was between 7 and 8 AM, then a pick. We landed 7 and lost 4 before we left at 11:30 AM with a few good ones mixed in.

Thanks for taking Dad off his head!
We got them all on 6 lb fireline with a 10 lb flouro leader. Jigs and plastics were the ticket. The fish were in 55-80 feet, with the most active ones seeming to be in the 60-65 foot range. As said previously, the early morning period seemed to be best. That being said, I've never tried it in the afternoon. Does anybody have any experience with this? |
