Caught 8 species of fish in one spot with one lure
Went ultralight jigging in 62 degree Carnegie Lake this evening in the pouring rain during a 50 knot sou’easter gale. Was surprised to find 8 other fishermen there. Two were still there when I quit at night. Wore my Helly Hansen rain jacket and Grundens bibs. Got water in my Lacrosse knee boots when I waded out too far into the lake. Rowers were on the lake. Caught and released 7 white perch, 3 yellow perch, 3 bluegills, a largemouth bass, a black crappie, a golden shiner, a red breasted sunfish and a green sunfish with a tiny Temu green leadhead jig and 1” chartreuse twister tail on 2 lb test line. Catching 8 species of fish 🐟 in one spot with one lure was amazing. Used a Zebco spinning rod that Tony J gave me when he moved to Florida. Thanks again Tony. Saw carp jumping again. The lake will probably be a muddy flood with current tomorrow which will be good for carping but I may try Turnmill Pond instead. I don’t like fishing 🎣 where most of the fishermen kill most of the fish that they catch.
