Default Two Tone Pike + A Biggun 7/23

Hit the river for a bit yesterday. Got out early to avoid the oppressive heat and humidity. About a half hour in I hooked up with a small pike. Didn't realize till I got him in the net that it had an odd color variation to it. Kind of like 1/3 albino?? Threw em back and kept going. Couple casts later I hook up again, ends up being an XL perch that I hooked like a gaff, lol.......

Not long after my lure gets grabbed agian. Didn't feel like much until I got em close to the boat. Then he decideds to go on a drag rippin run under the boat and out the back. Few seconds later I notice the line wrapped completely around the motor!!! So I'm fighting the fish with one hand while I lift the motor up out of the water. Then, everytime I try to unwrap the line, he takes off again and I have to let go and wait. Thought for sure the line rubbin on the motor was gonna break but it held and I finally got it unwrapped. Fought him into the net and while still shaking I lifted up a nice 35"er. Quick CPR and off he went with one last splash into the boat. Def the best adrenaline filled fight I've had in a while!!!!

Thumbs up Re: Two Tone Pike + A Biggun 7/23

Damn.................................G!!!! Sounds like quite a battle to get that beast in. Great catch buddy and way to stay patient and poised. Nice looking fish all around except for that Albino, weird! Seems like the Pike are on a consistent feeding RAMPAGE. YEA BOYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

.

That's awesome.
There really are some monster perch in that river. I caught a perch there last year that was almost a foot long.

There must be something in all that storm drain run-off and sewer discharges that encourages those fish to grow big.

Great pike G , and a monster perch too !!! A few years back, I would always catch a bass or a perch in a day when going for pike. I don't think I have caught either this year.

Another great hour on the river tonight with a bunch. Just pissed I didn't get a picture of a 30" pickerel that got off trying to get the camera set.

Perfect conditions in certain areas of the river, and not so good in others, but enough good water to make the best of the river !!

Great catching and would love to see an out of the water picture of that pike.
