Wasted a few hours inshore on my Tidewater 232 Adventure in rocky areas with eels and slow drift conditions. Finally figured out they wanted floats set right at 20 sitting over 21 hump. Went 4/5. Got our smallest fish of 38 the rest 43-45 overs. Still slower than I wanted. Marking lots of bait but they were deep. Nothing in lures. Headed out just inside 3M line and saw fish blowing up in bunker. Stopped immediately and it was 2 hours non-stop on shads and live bunker. Hard to keep livewell stocked with snagging but we managed to keep up with supply and demand. All big fish - 44-48. By 2:30 the bunker went deep (because bass stopped feeding, and headed back to port).
Had a humpback breach way to close for comfort. Was like getting hit with a boat wake. Also had a giant BFT blow up off the stern. Massive fish. |
