Well, it will lower the salinity in estuaries of course, as well as roil the water clarity.. I am no expert, the party/charter captains are, but in my opinion once the swell subsides, the bottom settles down a bit, the fluke fishing in the rocky areas in the ocean will be ok.. the rivers and back bay areas, might feel the effects a while longer.. There is SO much fresh water being poured into the tidal rivers right now...bob

Usually I won't waste my time after the rain in the estuaries. However, took my mother out Sunday at bottom of tide for an hour and a half. 2 keepers 19" and 21" along with about 2 dozen shorts. Loads of crabs and 3 inch snappers. We were in the Manasquan

The back bay is disgusting after heavy rain. Was at Staten Island. Trash floating everywhere. Baited about 20 live snappers over 3 hours. NOTHING 2 shorts
Almost lost a rod to a ray. |
