Ice cleats to slip over your boots
Safety picks
Spud bar to check the ice (yes, it's vermont, but still)
Ice scooper to clean the slush from your holes
Lead clip on depth checker
Different leader depending on the species you're targeting
Egg sinkers, barrel swivel, hooks and beads for your tipups
Tipups
Tear drop jigs, jigging raps
Mousies or an artificial to add some scent to your jig

Good recos from skunk so far

Good boots.
Hand warmers
100 ft of rope
Aerated bait bucket
Bucket/tote to carry your gear

I assume your hick buddy has an auger?

Check the regs on number of tip ups/rods you can use so you're aware before stepping foot on the ice

I pre tie all of my rigs so it is easy to swap out leaders quickly. Helps spend more time with bait in the water vs tying leaders with cold fingers while out on the ice. Various hook sizes and fluoro leader strength from small hooks and lite leader for trout/panfish to 6/0s and 80 lb fluoro for toothy critters.

be careful, VT/NH had like 5 deaths on the ice past two weeks, the ice up there can be deceiving especially with a lot of heavy snow on top. spud, drill, check. don't make any assumptions.

Warm clothes, a folding chair, and a bottle of bourbon.

And bring me home some Heady Topper if you find it.
