![]() I have been chasing bass on the ocean for a month with a steady pick of 1 to 4 on each run. Each trip has taken trial and error on what to throw at them. First trip was clams. Next trip they hit storm shads. The next trip it took trolling Rapala stretch plugs (bunker 30 has been producing best). Then it was trolling Mojo's. Yesterday snag and drop produced. I caught my first ocean bass of the season a month ago 2 miles off of Spring Lake. The past 2 weeks has taken a bit more fuel running as far south as Island Beach state park. Catching bass in 15' of water off of Seaside yesterday. From what they are hitting to where I have found them has been a "reel" crap shoot. The bass are out there but be prepared with a full bag of tricks, plenty of fuel and most important time in the water. Here are some of this years bass up to 39 lbs.
