Default Thank you for all the great advice last week... Good read in this thread

Just wanted to thank all you guy's who gave me some advice to where to fish for smallies last week. I WILL NOT TELL A FISHERMAN'S TALE..... As much as I hate to admit, "I GOT SKUNKED" Headed out to Merrill Creek last Saturday with my dog (Best fishing buddy ever...LOL) it is a beautiful lake, but not a great idea to drive 1-1/2 hours to a res. that is over 150 feet deep, but with that said, it was still a great day. I def. feel like throwing the towel in on fishing this year,(BUT i'M WAY TO STUBBORN) but if i were to do that, I will never learn to fall fish, I keep catching myself going back to my summer tactics (it's all i know right now) . I have decided to stay local and hit the place i have been fishing all year, Manasquan res. on Sunday, and take what I have been reading and the advice I have been getting and apply it, and see what happens, I have a good boat, all the equip. I need, fish finder, tackle, 112lb trolling motor etc. Plain and simple, I just have to learn the fall, wish me luck...LOL. BTW, I saw the 5-alive guy's had a tournament last sunday at squan, and after looking at what came out of that lake last week, trust me, there huge fish to be caught, and they are still feeding, so basically, I have no excuse...LOL

I just read this article, I get the weekly "ON THE WATER" report, and they always have great stuff to read, anyway, this article might be the best I have read yet, and thought i would share it with you guy's.

I feel your pain. I can beat the banks all day long, but when the fish aren't there I'm lost.
