Default The eyes of MONKS!!!!

Had my best night ever on Skunksville last night in terms of numbers. Got 4 eyes on the Mugger's deck between 11:30 and 12:30. All in the same 18"-20" range. Here are some bad nighttime selfies. No picture of the fist one because he wouldn't cooperate.

Nice! Do you guys get them on the surface there like on Hopatcong up to about now? (Sort of cool-weather season.)

When I night fish Monks I stick to baits that run subsurface. I don't hear the surface blow ups like you hear on Hopat. You do hear an occasional explosion, but nothing like Hopat, I gotta believe the difference in Hybrid population has something to do with that. So i don't throw anything topwater. I'm fishing stick baits anywhere from inches below the surface to scratching the bottom depending on the spot and the weed growth.
Last night was nuts! I got to my spot and hooked up on the first cast. I released the fish and got back at it. Maybe 10 minutes later I hook up again, release, then hook up again on the next cast. Back to back fish on Monks!!!! Then I cracked open a double IPA and chilled for while...got back at it and got slammed again!!! No way, I'm not on Monks!!!! Then I worked like hell for #5 and couldn't connect. I hit 2 more spots on the way back to the ramp with typical Monks results. Who knows, maybe i caught the same fish 4 times..haha

Nice catching Scotty. Fish look nice and healthy!!! Walleye or die! SKUNKSVILLE still doesn't have any fish in it so I highly recommend heading elsewhere if you really want to catch something!
