Default Walton Lake Smallies

Finally got the yak out today for some after work lake fishing in Monroe, NY. Driving up there, I have never seen the feeder streams and rivers along the route so overflowing. Literal waterfalls created where none ever existed before! Wind was borderline white cap when I arrived around 5 PM but laid down gradually and was flat calm with an hour of daylight left. Water temp was 56 degrees. Managed 4 smallies with a number of misses, including stockie trout that slashed the extra large shiners, but couldn't manage to stay hooked long enough for the net. No slobs but steady action in a nice setting. Nothing like having an entire lake to yourself within easy 45 minute driving distance of Bergen County. Tite linez Jerzee Boyz!

Walton lake holds some nice large trout on the deep south end. Kinda a tricky lake to fish. Nice report.

The first fish I ever caught was out of Walton. Anyone remember the old boat rental? Nice big old wooden boats with built in live wells. Get some herring at Greenwood and fly over to Walton before they went belly up.

I remember the state stocked some type of carp to control weeds and the fish ended up doing too good if a job.

Nice job on the smallmouth. Some big browns by the springs.
