Sunday Morning

Got up this morning and had some free time so I hit the river. Tried 2 spots, first was a bust, second produced. Got a fat 16.5" smallie after the first half hour. After that, I hooked up with a nice pike!! Hooked em 10 ft from shore only to have em peel my 20# line off for a bout 40-50 ft. splashin and thrashin all the way. Finally landed a nice 36"ish pike with a belly!! Not bad for the first one of the year.....

Nice job bro!!! I thought u looked familiar when I was walk in down there. This was my firdt skunked of the year. Not even a bite. On top of that I left my bag at the first spot I went to!!!!!! Terrible fishing day for me. My license was attached to it. U would think a fellow fisherman would send it back but I highly doubt it. Looks like I have to buy a new river bag of lures.

Those are a two impressive fish Mr G. I haven't been up to the river in about a year. Plan on making my way that direction soon. Well done.

Nice mixed bag... very solid fish indeed - I've got to finally get out there in my yak and get in on some of those pike.

Nice meeting you too man. Would've stayed longer but had to get back to take the wife shopping and be back to watch the rangers kick the sh!t out of the flyers. Sucks about your gear.

Also, don't think the rivers gonna be productive for a while with all this rain coming.

That spot gets swamped with people now. Good thing u went early. I was at a spot before that and I didnt get a bite. But I def think the earlier u go the better. That has been when I caught my biggest pike. I tend to like when the waters high for shore fishing because the fishget caught in the deep holes.
