Default Passiac River Carp Fish Kill

Went down to the Passaic River in Fair Lawn yesterday to have a coffee and see if anyone decided to actually fish for Trout since they stocked it. In that section I have no idea why but hey, what do I know. Get to the waters edge and see 15-20 dead carp within a 30 foot distance. Couldn't walk up or down due to the mud to find more but has anyone heard of recent issues. Since I didn't see other species I'm assuming it's not pollution or sewage release.

There was a previous post about some dead carp that looked to be killed by a bow hunter

If you see dead carp again check to see if they have arrow holes in them. There are some bowfisherman who have been illegaly kiilling and discarding fish and killing illegal numbers of fish, in some cases over 100 fish between 2 guys. If you catch them in the act take pics of their boat and license plate.

Why are people killing fish for no reason? Carp, pickerel, bowfins, bass in trout waters. At least give it to somebody to eat.

I posted about them last week. They had arrow holes in them. I counted 16 by the boat launch. Water was high and stained. There may have been more. I caught 6 browns and 2 bows there.

I saw them on Saturday too. I launch my kayak there and go up river to the next 2 or 3 bridges for smallies. A section in there has some runs and riffles like a trout water, figured I would try for them where few people fish and they stocked a ton this year. Water was still pretty high, couldn't make it paddling up river and the section I was heading for was all deep heavy flowing water. I remembered seeing the post here about dead carp in the Passaic. Ticked off to see the dead fish, at least it was the same ones and I hadn't found another batch of killed carp.
