Default Troutin' w/ Uglystick Jim today

Hit the river w/ Jim trying for some 'bows bright and early....Weather was a warm 35 degrees for this time of year, and the water was a bit high which was good......fish were very cooperative as between the both of us we caught @ 40 all on artificials.....Never thought I'd like fishing in the winter as much as I have been this year...As far as me 'lipping' the one trout, it was my bad and before anyone slams me for doing that, I just want to say I got a little careless today because I was balancing on a rock in the middle of the stream and I NEVER EVER have held a trout that way before today....So I apologize in advance to anyone that gets upset at that....Other than that, it was a good day ..Almost every trip has been decent in some way or another.........bonus Brown trout was an unexpected surprise..all fish Catch, Photo, and Released today......Here's a few from today.....

Behind the hatchery is the only game in town (unless your an icenut), steady temps from the hatchery outflow keep it ice free and all the fish congregate there.

Listen only reason he was getting on you is when your posting catch numbers like you are and multiple pics of gill grabbing and lipping trout, trout guys get irked. Im one of them..no going back and forth on your post here. Put youre ego a side and if you need a pic do it fast and close to the water and cradle them. Dont let them hit the ground and keep your fingers out of the gills. These arent smallies or largemouth you will kill them. Everyones guilty of doing it wrong everyonce in a while look at some of my trout posts. Take some advice or stick to largemouth and sandwiches
