Default costly striper trip..........

well, with the good reports and better weather decided to ride the waves today. Met my friend (who was 45 minutes late) at Atlantic bait and tackle to load up on provisions. late start and in the water at 8:30. rang up the grape vine to find out the bite was not in the same spot it's been, so of for a ride to the ocean. Anchored up and had a slow pick. Stuck with this for a while, caught a couple of keepers but not enough action for me. Heard from my buddy that there was a bite in the bay, so off I went. Anchored up for another slow pick. Then I got slammed by a freight train that peeled a ton of drag! fought the beast for a while and landed a nice 20 pounder! thanks for the call to move back in (you know who u are)!
Ended the day with a total of 6-7 fish caught including the piggy. the other guys with me were not so experienced and caught a couple a piece.

Now for the crap news. On the way into keyport I hit something in the MIDDLE of the channel and sheered off 1/2 of a prop blade, the thing was only two weeks old! I don't think I did any other damage, but I will be picking up ANOTHER prop tomorrow! Be careful out there, I guess I have the honor of the first casualty!

Back at it Sunday with my son.

Nice fish and report Steve, thanks for sharing it! Sorry about the prop. I fear we may be hearing a lot of that this season.

Thankfully it was "just" a prop. Glad everyone's safe and you can still smile about a good day's fishin'

I'm sure if he doesn't have the numbers, he will be able to describe EXACTLY where it was. Good luck tomorrow!
