Hit the river yesterday from noon till about 4:00. LOTS of traffic out there. Must have seen at least 10 other boats, yaks, canoes, and numerous bankbeaters.
Started off good with a couple follows by decent size pike and hook up with a shorty but then things slowed for a while. After a quick change of location we picked up a couple decent smallies and a few more short pike. Not long after, I hooked into a nice pike. Put up a good fight for a few minutes. Unfortunately, as soon as I got him close enough to the boat to see him, I saw my lure come unhooked and away he went. Prob went a good 30". Total for the day, 2 smallies, 5 pike all under 20", and one that got away. Still, nice to be out on the water. ![]()

My father and i put in elmwood park around 4:30 and fished until dark. We had a couple follows and ended with 8 smallies, 1 pike and 1 pickerel. All on spinners, no top water action. Anywhere else you can launch a bass boat from besides elmwood park? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
