Went musky fishing on Hopatcong in the rain today. Didn't put any in the net, but we had 5 follows including a blow-up on a topwater. I did land a chunk pickerel, two nice walleye in the 23ish inch/4 poundish range and what was probably a 5 or 6 pound largemouth, all on musky lures. Didn't rain too bad and I'd much rather deal with the weather than all the yahoos on the weekend. I was out on Sat too and my buddy Matt put a 34 in the net.

I think that Hopatcong has surpassed Greenwood Lake as the premiere musky destination in New Jersey.

I agree Doug, but I also think that you need to have a lot more knowledge of the lake and of musky fishing to be successful there. I think there are more and bigger fish in Hopatcong, but you have to know where to look for them and what tools to use to consistently be successful at catching them.
