Lower South Branch 8/28/25:

Rockafellows dam to confluence with the North Branch, 9am to 2pm. NO fishing today, just trying to sneak in another clean-up before the water gets too cold.
Insane bug hatch again by Three Bridges. Pulled what tires I could find and got creative with a heavier item. I can't do truck tires alone, so they get left behind. Pretty soon the leaves will fall and water temps will drop. All the vegetation will break loose from the bottom and float away. The rivers will soon lose that "bass" look and take on more of a "trout" look, we are pretty lucky to get the best of both worlds. Despite no rain in the last few months and all the lawns turning brown the river had plenty of water, right up to the banks, I guess they are unloading Spruce Run again. The river is choked with baitfish. Let's break down the numbers shall we:
Tires pulled-5

I still have to get back to Manville and clean some more yet.
Waiting on no less than 5 dams to removed, at this rate they will crumble on their own.
