Default What a crazy night!

Left work at 7pm heading home in Flemington. Downpours and massive flooding everywhere. I wound up stopping on a high ground by 3 Bridges and spent the night in my car while water was closing in from all directions. I really thought I was a goner. The rain was non stop and the river kept rising and all i could hear was the roar of the river. I got no sleep and was ready to drive up a driveway to get to even higher ground. The next morning local's in this rural area realized I was there and brought me food and coffee. Very nice people. I made new friends and promised them fresh fish. Final the river dropped enough for me to cross a flooded road. All I can say is what and night and the man up stairs was looking over me for sure. I'm glad to now be safe and home. But it was a night I will never forget. I hope everyone is safe and home with their families.

If you have to deal with flooding rivers, bookmark the local river gauge stations that also show forecasted levels. https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydr...rce=hydrograph

The Raritan flooded worse than Floyd and Irene by about six inches

It seemed to me like it came up 10 ft in less than a half hour. I was wondering when it was going to stop rising due to no end in sight downpouring of rain. I was ready to go to higher land which luckily was available!

Sounds like a night to remember. Glad to hear you got out safe. The Passaic river by my job came up in the back lot fast receded and is now starting to crest
