Default GAMBLER-- Southern Taug Special!

Gambler was out for first long range taug trip this morning. It was a rather sporty, uncomfortable ride down and not much nicer when we settled on the anchors by 8. Action was pretty good to start. Decent amount of keepers came in first hour. Slowed up after that.
We check 3 more wrecks in 70 to 100 feet. Each had some bites and we managed a few keepers and shorts on each. But it wasn't real good in the slop.
We didn't coax bubba out of the smoke stack today. But we are going again on Wednesday and hopefully we will get some big ones. We still have spots available for Weds.
Some special guest stars will be joining us Weds, including Jim Hutchinson and Chris Lido. Weather looks good. Sign up soon.
We are running a monthly Taug derby as well as big daily pools.
The Gambler returned from an offshore sea bass trip on Weds night. All bases were loaded out to the East, so we had to make a long run south. Thankfully, the weather was very good and the sea bass were hungry. Great trip. The sea bass ranged from small to extra big 5lbers. No troubles catching a limit.
Not many other species along with the bass this time. Just a few spinys but they were not too bad.
I wish we could fish another month for them (like we traditionally did).
