Got our last trip in this weekend before John's boat got pulled and we made up for the prior weekend! bait rigs and dark/natural colored jigs did best, they WOULD NOT TOUCH the bright colored jigs. so if anyone ever wondered if tog jig color can make a difference the answer is yes!
I used a bright colored jig (that i've had plenty of success with other days) for the first hour and caught crap while Arty was hauling in fish with a black jig and John was flipping them in on a bait rig. I switched to one of my rusty/black colored jigs and joined in on the action, catching up in no time!
It slowed down by the last 2 hours of the day and we ended up just 2 fish short of a 3 man boat limit, but we had many nice roasters and plenty of nice thick 18-20" piggies as well!
Real nice way to put an end to the seahawk season, but i can't get enough of these fish...time to get on some charters!
