Today we had Steve and Ken on board for our first bluefin trip of the season. With the good reports we were very excited to get offshore for a change. Left the dock at 4am in some confused seas. Was able to get out lines in just before 7. Had 2 knock downs 20 min into the troll but never came tight. Covered a lot of ground but was never able to find anything. Around 1230 started heading inshore and ran across the tuna on the surface. In about an hour and a half we were able to go 5/8 on unders up to 45 inches. Had a few fish on the troll, a few on jigs at one point and even one on a popper. It wound up being a great day offshore and was very happy to Ken his first ever tuna.
