Default Pikeathon winner 1 week too late

Covered about 6 miles of river this afternoon on a nice float trip. Lots of blowups, follows and misses, but managed one big girl. Completely dominated a watermelon crankbait in 3ft of water. Quick fight, quick dehook, quick measurement and quick release. She measured out to 37.5", my biggest of 2015 so far.

Also spent the morning fabbing up a trolling motor mount. Came up with this simple setup that worked great. I can definitely feel the weight of the battery and motor when paddling, but this thing hauls ass now lol. Used it to blast through unproductive waters. Will be modding it a bit when I come up with ways to improve upon it.

Even with a kayak, if you put a motor on it I think you have to register it.

Yep need to register anything with power. Just a question because all i ever see is kayak P updates, is there any problems floating a small jon boat in the P? Id like to get out on it and feel my like 9 foot jon would do well on it.

Some stretches are deeper than others, but if you don't mind wacking a submerged tree or scraping on some gravel, it is perfect for a jon. On the float we did, there was one spot where a tree was blocking the entire river, so portaging around it was a must.
