Got out for a bit on the P saturday morning. Had an hour or 2 to burn so I hit a couple local spots. First spot was slow until I looked down and watched a bass chase a few baitfish right up against the rock I was standing on. Tossed a spinner in his direction and hooked up with my first smallie of the year. It was kinda chubby and just happened to start droppin a deuce while I took his pic, lol......
At the second spot I hooked up with my first pike of the year. Decent fish, high 20s and fought really well. Almost got airborne twice. Only took till May.
Anyway, hadn't been to the river much this year so it felt good to get back and get a few. Here's some pics, including a snake that decided to hang out for a bit while I was fishing. Didn't even move when I stuck my camera right up to him, lol......
