Fished the open boat on the Mimi today with a good sized crew and high hopes based on prev day reports! First stop was great warm air and little breeze. Say a few ppl swinging up front so skated over to get 2 shorts. Wind started to pick up and we pulled hooks for a second drop, which was more of the same! Capt tried hard all day moving further and further north trying different depths and wiggling around but it was a tuff bite all day for most. 2 guys did have 5 keepers 1 had 4 and so on! I only managed 1 keeper and bunch of shorts some real short. By mid day the wind was blowing a good 25-30 maybe this had something to do with it or not not sure! Pool fish was about 4.5 pounds! Better luck next time

I ended up with a 3 and a 4 pounder. I liked my first trip on the boat. I don't know where that post about the great tog season came from but all 6 of my trips on various boats this year have been "tough" to very tough. Not just for me but for everybody on board except Skippy.

Was on the Mohawk, weren't far from you and experienced similar fishing.... I didn't get any keepers, my first blackfish skunk ever.

Ken and chris worked their asses off today trying to get a bite for us. I managed 4 keepers, my dad and friend worked hard only to get shorts. Less than favorable conditions with the wind howling. The fish ate green crabs aggressivly, and only scratched at the whites which i thought was very odd. The mimi is a top notch organization, you cant go wrong fishing with these guys.

Nobody mentioned the goofball in the small center console who tried anchoring between us and the Gaffer. Got his anchor line wrapped around his prop then hooked onto the Mimi's port anchor line. At least an hour from SRI with a child on board in those conditions. Worth the price of admission to watch that.
