First hybrid of the year!

Fishing was painfully slow today. Almost no action at Spruce for the first few hours in the morning. Had one fish that got away due to a tree branch being in the way of the hookset. Tried throwing a lot of lures and a senko too. After a few hours of nothing at Spruce, we tried the muskie for a bit. Nothing hitting there either. Decided to get lunch (25 Burgers!) and then head back to Spruce but at a different spot. Once again, fishing was slow. No action at all for the first hour and half. Then finally, one of our rods doubles over. Zach sets the hook and the fish is fighting like crazy, the rod shaking violently. We're both thinking, "Hybrid?" And yes it was. A beautiful 4.25lb, 18.25" Hybrid Striped Bass, first of the year for us! Made up for the slow day =D
