I hit the NB for a couple of hours Saturday just upstream from the Milltown Road bridge off of mainstreet. It was slow with only 4 fish....basically deadsticking a senko in deep slack/slow water. 2 dinks and two in the 1.5 lb range.

I hit the South Branch of the Raritan River in downtown Clinton by that Red Mill Museum upstream from the big spillway. This area is a popular spot for stocked trout when they stock in the spring and fall.

These fishing is often slow on these cool, clear-sky days. I caught a small Largemouth Bass and few undersized Smallmouth Bass along with an assortment of sunfish. Not a great day, but I was just happy to be out on the water putting a bend in the rod.

I'm not too familiar with the area upstream from the big spillway as I haven't fished it since I was a kid. It doesn't look like the Red Mill Museum is allowing people to fish on their property, anymore. Too bad, that's where I used to fish as a kid.

I have countless memories fishing AT the water wheel as a kid....
You used to be able to fish off of the stone wall AT the wheel....Summertime with mealworms would yeild 100 fish days, but in this case it would be pearch....Smallies were ALWAYS a deffinate and spring and fall were sure fire trout times....I never spent much time in the ponded area above the falls where the last pic was taken, but i have and do spend a good amount of time in the upper sb....two thumbs up....I like the lower sb fer smallies and the upper fer the troutskies....Way too many memories to count in the clinton area....

I do believe the museum is VERY strict in reguards to ANY kind of trespassing and has been this way for at least five yrs. or so

Nice smallie
