There is definitely no ice at RVR.
Barring a health issue it was either a kayaker or someone who took a fall. Many of the paths around the lake are now impassable due to downed trees. Getting to my special spot last weekend turned out to be something of a project, and getting back I ended up on a trail I try to avoid where at one point you have to straddle a 20 foot cliff with only 10 inches width of path. I'm hoping the Park Services clean some of these up as that one path is incredibly risky and a safer route is needed. Really sorry to hear this. safety should always be paramount out there or any large body of water.
