Places near Tuckerton?

I'm heading down to the Tuckerton area this weekend (ailing father in law - sucks ) and looking to get out for a few hours with the wife (she's a fish nut too thank God) as she needs a break. Anyone know of anything worth hitting from shore?

I know there is Lake Manahawkin off of 72 and Lake Pohatcong right off main street in Tuckerton but don't know anything about them. Not sure what is available in the creeks leading out to the bay either.

Any help would be appreciated.
