Last weekends Trout, Sunday Walleye Slaughter!

Hit the Trout waters in between holiday stuff and other stuff. Made quick work of some wild Browns with a good one at 15 inches, while struggling to find some Rainbows. Finally found a few but had to hole hop to get the numbers. Seems that there was 1-2 in each hole and then I had to shake n bake. Waters are up finally so good Trout fishing should continue here and there.




Yesterday, Sunday Walleye Funday! Linked up with a fellow river warrior. I asked him if he was running north. Said he wasn’t going to but me asking raised an eyebrow and off we went after I put my boat back on the trailer. Thank god this dude had a beauty of a river jet boat. We trekked north and made our way into the Walleye promised land. Bagged 3 in 12 feet of water and then the bite shut down. Wiggled down a little and found the mother load in 14-18 feet of water. Anchored off the pile and casted to them. At one point it was a fish a cast and we kept taking turns netting each other’s keepers every minute or 2. By the time we were finished and boxed up we each had 12 keepers a piece, no short life and some nice females to 23 ish inches in the mix. Not a soul in sight, no other boats around. While taking the boat out we ended the day watching a pair of Bald Eagles fly off to there nest while playing airborne. Sunday was a perfect day! If you weren’t out there man, you missed a gem of a day!
