The Fishweather app is best for WIND predictions, but has tools to create on-demand forecasts in the wind forecast maps. I use it for every fishing trip to make sure that I'm not unnecessarily surprised by Mother Nature. Using the Fishweather app is FREE.
The Buoyweather app gives you a two-day look at the marine forecast (wind and waves) for any location that you choose on a map. I've used it in Maine, Montauk, Avon, Avalon, Indian River (DE), and Indian River (FL). Subscribers get the same functionality for full 7 day marine forecast instead of just 2 days. It's especially useful for offshore trips and where NOAA marine forecasts meet e.g. Is Montauk in Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, or the end of the South Shore? Buoy Weather gives you the forecast for the spot on the map that you choose. |

NOAA, like Muldune said--just for the blue water tuna weather to see if we're a go or no...before the Capt's cancel call!!!! Weather channel if it's raining/t-storms for inshore trips...

Greetings!
Been awhile since I have posted but tuna time for me is getting close and I am getting psyched together back out to the deep on the Gambler. Agree NOAA for short term Go or No Go read but I find that Buoyweather is pretty accurate longer term. While it costs a couple of bucks there are other interesting features like water temp etc and you can zoom into specific areas. Free premium trial to see if you like it and you can drop out when the seasons over if you sign up. |

I think they all suck but I use buoy weather and windfinder. I pay for buoy weather but actually like windfinder better for the inshore forecast.
