Default Last Week Report, PB Wally 5/4

Managed to squeeze in a couple trips in the last week. Hit separate shed lakes on Friday and Monday. Friday was sunny and 80* while Monday was overcast and a bit cooler. Found decent action both days. First trip was a pickerel fest!! Wasn't bad considering only one out of 8 came in under 20" and I caught it by the boat launch waiting for someone else to unload. Couple of them were FAT!!! One looked like it just ate a big sunny by shape of its gut. Only one smallie came to the net that day, about 15", but it had also been eating well. Also, just as we were getting ready to leave, we heard some rustling in the brush and looked up to see a large black bear foraging along the shoreline! Was really cool to watch him flip over rocks and dig around in the leaves looking for food. That is until he looked our way and took a few more steps until his front paws were in the water. That's when we decided to move along!!!!

Monday the smallies outnumbered the pickerel although one of the 2 pickerel was the biggest of both days at almost 30". The fun started with double smallies within 10 mins of getting started!!! Also managed a second doubles on the day with a perch pickerel combo (also my favorite pic). Topped that off by wrangling my PB Waldo!! Wasn't a beast but was bigger than my 1 other! I thought it looked like a post spawn fish by the girth and worn out tail but I didn't think they spawned in this lake. Unless they're just "dry humping"??
