Default Sheds Looking Pretty Low 10/1

Took a ride to the Stear with pops yesterday. Had high hopes with the overcast almost foggy conditions. Got there to find an unusual scene at the launch..... A full size pick up truck, stuck in the mud, about 50ft from the usual launch!!! Also, a member of the local PD was there, observing. Spent a few mins watching this unlucky guy digging his tires out and b'sing with the officer. Had to carry the boat pretty far to the water but we launched. Love the tin can, what it lacks in comfort it makes up for with functionality.......

Couldn't believe how low the water was. Most of the underwater humps were small islands!! Well, at least I know more about the structure in there now, lol. Anyway, the fish were willing. Caught a handful of smallies, biggest went about 16-17". Actually, the biggest went about 2 feet in the air and spit pop's lure due to lazy net job by me. Easy 4# maybe more. $#@&!!! Also got a couple pickerel.

All in all, had a decent day fishing and best of all, had the lake to ourselves!!

Thanks for the info G. Was thinking about getting the permit next year, but since I launch solo almost all the time, I'd be the guy stuck in the mud!!! Stear's the one with walleye in it, right?

Even with the water levels, it's still hard to beat catching on a quiet lake this time of year.

Great pics and nice day!! I use to GPS all the big rocks during drawdown on these rezzies and during full pool, even with side imaging, you just can't find them lol. Never fished that one when it gets like this, the last 2 years have been the same. I can only imagine how shallow some of the flats are

Talking Re: Sheds Looking Pretty Low 10/1

The WANAQUE was drawn down like every year, maybe a little lower than usual due to GWL to be lowered for dock repair, stump removal. First harvested the weeds, then poisoned the lake with herbicide to make things nicey-nice for the powerboat races, now they want to remove the stumps. The two natural speed management mechanisms/fish holding structure was the only thing from keeping people from going WFO and running each other over.

Once they start dropping GWL get to the SKUNK. It turns the place on in a big way. Then you will have a really shot @ catching one of those alleged three fish if you can hit the water with your cast.
