Hi-mar tournament bass report -Johnny Bucktails

On board for the tourney was me, lip, and Matt. Made enough bait in one throw to last us a week and we were off. Fished hard the whole day. Live lined in the morning and chunked in the pm. Did excellent both ways. We landed 40 bass throughout the day and they were all over 18 pounds. The problem was finding big fish. The two biggest fish we had were both only 22 pounds but it got us 5th place. At around noon we were swinging in 20 pound bass and couldn't get them off the hook fast enough. We knew we needed some bigger fish but we decided not to move and to hopefully nail a big one but it didn't happen. We still had an incredible day that i will remember for a while. The blues did get in the way a little but they weren't to obnoxious. Hi-mar is a great tournament and i can't wait to fish it again. Placing 5th in my first bass tourney is a success in my book.
