12-31 Report
Offshore wreck fishing was good again today. Some of the wrecks had giant sea bass and jumbo porgies and some had more porgies on them. There were many limits of both Sea Bass and Porgies. It looks good for our January trips for Jumbo Porgies as there are more migrating to the wrecks every day. Certain wrecks are holding many more porgies than sea bass which will work out well as Sea Bass will be closed. We should see more cod and Pollock move in. If we do not then we will fish the offshore wrecks until everyone catches their limit of porgies and then move to the mid-range wrecks to try for cod, Pollock, and ling. Today’s pool winners were: Bob Patschke from Clarksville MD with a 7.75LB Sea Bass, Earl Tarpley rom Washington DC with a 7.5LB Sea Bass. We are scheduled to sail offshore every Saturday in January and February at 1AM. We will fish offshore wrecks for Jumbo Porgies, cod and Pollock. During January & February Jumbo Porgies are open. Based on what we see, and are catching right now, fishing will be good. More cod, Pollock , and ling should move in too.
