Default Fall Trout Today- Catching & Cooking

Hit the Musky "area" below 78 today at 9am with the Dad.

After having no luck in the north Jersey streams, I was happy to see pools of Fat trout in the river & Creek.

Went to my Honey Hole and saw the guy who's house is on the spot. He said that 0 fishermen have went there to fish this stocking period. And he was right, there were over 20+ fish in the hole.

Got 15 total, 4 hit the table for the fam to eat.

All fish on butterworms & crickets. Had bows(holdovers), browns (holdovers), and brookies.

HOW DO YOU GUYS COOK YOUR TROUT?????

I cooked em up 3 different ways:

1--Smoked. cherrywood. Blackening spice w/brown sugar. then take the smoked trout and add to Potatoes, onions and spices for some Smoked Trout Hash! soo good. Leftovers for breakfast.

2- Fried. in Cajun Cornmeal (cornmeal +chili pow & smoked paprika) salt n pep

3- Trout in a pouch. In tin foil pouch, lemon, butter, garlic, white wine, rosemary sprig and in the oven.

Eating good in the neighborhood!
