Hey everyone,
I normally don't use live bait but I have seen people with success. I always bring 2 rods and was thinking of setting one up for live bait. What is the best way to rig up minnows or shiners? Thanks -Cliffy |

In a drifting boat I would just let him swim behind the boat. If your anchored or on land then I would use a bobber

Alot of variables. Shiners or herring ? Boat or bank ? Deep or shallow ? Weed lines or open water ?

No weights, just wing 'em out there. Good luck.

How do you hook like to hook them? Tried shiners today near the Raritan fish ladder. Nada. Also, a big Nada to spinners, spoons and surface plugs (with the exception of a few voracious sunnies).

Through the nose. WOW, no hits on shiners by the fish ladder
, then again I was just down river from you and I didn't get anything either, maybe the deeper, slower runs ? rivers are tough, fish can be anywhere. |
