Default Ocean Explorer Blackfishing 1/2/23

Me, Art and Joe the Plumber hit the Ocean Explorer today. Tons and I mean tons of short life around the boat. I had 2 keeps Art had 1 and Joe the Plumber was on fire with 7 keeps ORL and as many shorts. There was another guy who kept pace with Joe fishing the jig who must of had 15 shorts and as many keepers and won the pool with a 4 or 5 pound roaster just nudging Joe out.

All in all a fun day of fishing with a nice group of people. Captain Bobby and mate Dave worked hard for us. Always a great time fishing with them and thanks for taking such good care of us!

For sure Joe. Was out 7 days before and the same thing, the crew mentioned it as well.. Any idea what causes that? We started out a little deeper on the first drop and it was really screaming there. Had to fish 12 ounces and no way to jig Fish. Went inshore and it let up some.

With one of the wettest Decembers on record, there’s a lot more water coming out of the Hudson.
