![]() Hi guys hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather! I am somewhat new to boating in this area. I slip in Sea Bright, have a 28 foot CC. I am looking to target somewhat inshore bluefin. I am not looking to know about your special hidden spot, but overall can someone guide me in the right direction of where I should be headed? Also what are you usually catching them doing? Trolling jet heads? Spreader bars? On bait? And lastly are there any other species to fish for out at these areas. Thank you!
I sincerely appreciate your help. Just looking to try for something a bit bigger than the sea bass I have been catching (nothing wrong with that!)

![]() I've had success with alot of different trolling lures. Cedar plugs spreader bars and Joe Shutes rigged with Ballyhoo get alot of use. Some of my best days have been Jigging and popping. Hope this helps good luck.

![]() This time of year, I would start at the Virginia wreck area and work the 30 fathom line south till you find signs of life or fish. If you go on Sterling tackle website theybshow you different trolling spreads for tuna
Make sure you have some safety gear when running that far. Ditch bag and an epirb at minimum. Good luck. |

![]() Good advice thus far, we have had a lot of luck on way back ballyhoo with a joe shute. We run off center rigger. There are a lot of scattered bluefin out there currently, they haven't seemed to settle into a specific area yet, but should. Last year was pretty epic fishing around the Atlantic Princess wreck, the fish held there for months, much longer than typical.
