Default Party Boat Angler Friday Report

The best thing about bottom fishing right now is that everyone goes home with fish. The porgy fishing is as close to a guaranty as you can get. The sea bass being open means you get to keep the keepers and there are some big ones. It was a heart breaker throwing them back. Check out some of the nice bass we had today. I do not have the pool winners name at home but he is the lad with the gray tee shirt.

SAILING AT 7:00 AM TOMORROW FIRST BOAT OUT AND GALLEY OPEN.

WE HAVE CLAMS AND CRABS

THANKS CAPTAIN GEORGE

Default Re: Party Boat Angler Friday Report

The lad in the grey shirt is called taxman

Decided to save 50 miles and 1 hours drive time and went to Atlantic Highlands instead of Brielle. Good choice I guess since the "D" and Jamica Star were both fishing near us

Went with my son, his girlfriend and my father in law

Started off as one of those days

Up at 4 out at 4:30

Forgot a package to bring to my inlaw, circled home and startd again

Picked up FIL, hit bank, ATM will not give me money

Hit parkway, realize truck does not have ezpass, search for cash, have to wait in line aat each toll since only one attended lane is open this early

Drive to shore, try ATM in quick check, SOL, luckily back up account had enough funds

Get to harbor with10 minutes to spare

Go to rig pole, find out I brought wrong top for base, luckily son had back up

Get to first spot, sons GF gets keeper just over 12.5

I follow up with a no brainer into the bucket

5 minutes later get big hit and fight Get fish to surface and it is a sea bass bergal double, sea bass is a nice knucklehead

Realize, backup pole has old line, see net in bow, ask mate to net it for me since I do not know strength of line.

Get a little bit of blow back, but he does run to upper deck, hands down net, runs back down and nets fish. Tells me I should have swung it, admits it is a nice fish.

Get another no measure keeper and suddenly, the fish leave me alone

Get 1 more sea bass before end of day, did have a good number of throw backs.

Capt George moved to the porgy grounds at end of day and stayed an extra 1/2 hour as we bailed them

4 of us had 6 sea bass and kept 10 porgies and gave away another 15

plenty of action all day, just not alot of keepers

Netted fish stood up for the pool, better safe than sorry. Did find out battling the bottom that the line was good enough to swing the rest of day

Nice day on water, Capt George moved and reset often trying to find the fish

Nice to have hot food in the galley

Still way better than work
