Default Oak Orchard Creek

I have some time off next week and was thinking about heading up to Oak Orchard to fish for some brown trout. Only problem is I have never been there before. Any of you guys have any info you’d be willing to share? Not looking for secret spots or anything just things like places to stay, fly shops, general recommendations on where to fish, etc. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

The Oak Orchard Creek I am referring to is the one that is a Lake Ontario Tributary. From my understanding it starts in Carlton, NY. Thanks

It's on the western end of Lk O , near Olcott NY . Accessibility is good so expect company ! What I would check is how the waters running , if low can be tough due to pressure.
I personally would consider the Salmon , closer & can be decent now , a lot depends on how cold it's been , but initial run was strong.

Capt Lou,

Thanks... Was up at the Salmon River this past weekend and going back on Monday. Was planning on fishing there until Wed then going out to Oak Orchard for a few. As a side note the water levels on the Salmon River were up over the weekend and there were a quite a few Steelhead around. Only fished the lower fly zone.

No need for a PM this time of year. Just get there and there are plenty of vacancies. The popular spots are on the WEB. WALK UP OR DOWNSTREAM AND YOU WILL FIND FISH if u don't see em right away.

Check on LOU sight for water & current info. Lake Ontario United generally can get info on current fishery !
These smaller tribes live on water feed so guide yourself accordingly
