got to my usual trail along the river at 7, no obscure secret area. started with a buzzbait, reeled it along shoreline structure and wham, something big blew up on it, no hookup. next cast, same thing. fished a while longer walking upstream, switching lures until eventually i found the golden ticket, literally. a gold #5 inline spinner got me 2 nice pickerel within 10 minutes, first was around 18" next was 14". the second one swallowed and gill hooked the treble, bled alot

and after releasing it hovered around near the surface next to the bank for a good 15 minutes and was gone eventually, must have swam off so i hope it made it. got 2 more picks further up, many strikes also. towards the end of the trail i did several casts near a fallen tree and they attacked it one after another. on one cast, the same fish struck it 3 times during the retrieve without hooking up

. finished off at a fast stretch on some island in the middle of the river. got a decent smallie, then a sunny which i have no idea how the big treble hook got him lol.
tried the canal next to the river, got a nice bass along the shoreline on a strike king shim-e-stick. walked downstream to another clearing, pitched it out and a small 10" bass grabbed it, set the hook, line snap-on 30lb braid

(bad knot, should have re-tied it before hand) quickly threw a spinnerbait out and the same fish grabbed it instantly, with the hook still in its mouth

. that was it for the day, a great morning and the only bad things were a bee sting, thorn bushes and stepping in dog s**t. still trying for those pesky pike...
