NJ Trophy Pike
 

Been doing the sunrise and sunset thing on the river lately with the fish being in their typical summertime spots. Been landing at least 2 Pike every trip but losing a lot more to spit hooks. Saturday, after landing one and losing two more, I dug deep into my tackle bag to find my unopened pack of trailer hooks. Added one to my monster sized spinner and within 5 minutes was rewarded with my 2nd biggest Pike ever. This bruiser DRENCHED me and my phone ($660 later lol), but I managed to get her in the net, a few decent photos, and happily released to get to that magical 40" mark. She measured out to 38" on the nose :D. Sorry for the subpar photos, I was riding solo with no GoPro and she was a handful.

Sick fish dude! Congrats on the trophy! She's got battle scars to prove her worth--that's for sure! Sorry to hear about the phone. The things we do and sacrifice for fish!

awesome job bro, that girl is a beast! Im gonna buy u one of the waterproof cases for the new phone, whats this the 3rd one this year? haha way to put the time in and get the reward, u rly have the river monsters nailed down, nice fish porn too

Great catch Rob!! I feel your pain with the phone. I had an iPhone that I owned for 3 months that is now sitting in a deep hole on that river. I was taking a pic of the gator when he thrashed and knocked it right out my hand. :mad: I have since bought a floating waterproof case. :) I vowed it would be the first and last phone I lose while fishing!! Time will tell.
