Still no power in my neighborhood in Berkeley Heights (34 hours now). Generator saved my basement from flooding.

Boat high and dry on the trailer next to the house, no tree damage.

Post-Irene offshore water look

When I saw the clear forecast for today, I wasnt so much excited about having a nice day finally as being able to get a clear view of what the water did during the storm! In a word.. it looks COLD. there is 60.2 degree SST at CC and 64.4 in the hudson.

Of course, this will all have warmed up a bunch by later this week. And the warm that seems to be sitting about 20 miles east of the Edge should start swirling in as the winds normalize as well.

Much more interesting to me is to see a true color shot to see what became of The Bloom and to see how bad the runoff stuff is near the inlets (or outlets..) But I can't find one available just yet.

Hopefully this storm was a reset button for the inshore bluefin fishery.

APP article at link mentions breach but I think in context of peak flood conditions, not permanent if I am reading it right.

we finally got power back (~12PM) after nearly 30 hrs of NOT having it due to a few downed power lines... PSEG takes their time!!!!!!!

Re: Post-Irene offshore water look

if it starts blowing sw every day over and over again that stormwater is going to hang around inshore.. bad scenario

Power went down on the North side of New Egypt around 10:00 pm Saturday night . Our power came back up around 11:00 am this morning . Around 37 hours without power . Main Street in New Egypt flooded and is still closed . Other than the power , flooding , and a couple of trees down it wasn't too bad . We had to flush the toilet with Grandson's pool water as we have a well .

Lost Power today in Clifton at about 2 pm, a limb fell on a wire. . I'm sure they got more emergencies than a a block or 2. Just when you think the worse is over. But hey there's a lot of people out a lot more so I'm not complaining.

Ringwood has had no power since 2AM on sunday! I am told we will not have it back until thursday PM! This sucks! I have no phone, computer, or air! All my food is going bad and I cant watch TV! Life sucks right now. I am at a friends shop using his computer, can't wait to get power back.

Peace out (until I have power)

Here in Berkeley Heights I have only seen 1 power truck. That was today when a van from Toledo (Ohio) Edison drove around assessing and documenting. No sign of JCP&L and no ETA.

People are saying anywhere from Wednesday to September 6. Clearly, we are not a priority.

Everything is a mess up in Pequannock.

Just waded out from our house which had 3' of water on the main floor last night. Was down to about 1' when i was walking around this afternoon.

We were lucky the last 2 floods, but not this time..

The roads up here are f-ed. Took me 4hrs to get from my current residence(a hotel in Parsippany) to Pequannock!! A ride that usually takes 15 min.

Better times coming and best wishes to all that were affected by this storm

My area of Long Branch just got power out. I was out of town but apparently we lost power at 10:00pm on Saturday. Luckily I spent 20 mins w/o power, then went to pick of Chinese food and found the power back on. Just lost a few things from my freezer. Parents just got back power in Rumson around 6:30. No damage there but lots of trees down on surrounding streets. Pretty sad given the relative weakness of the storm. If ever a Cat 3 makes landfall in the area, I have a feeling power will be out for weeks.

Heard that we have about a foot of water in our basement at home. I most likely lost all of my fishing things in the flood as they were on the basement and nobody thought to move them to higher ground as parents decided to go away   .

Everything is fine in baltimore, just a few downed trees and no major power hits.

So you are at Hopkins. Watch out because Baltimore is the VD capital of the U.S.

Hi Ryan,

My son went to Hopkins and we always had a great time visiting him there. Try Pete's grill for a great meal. Enjoy and good luck.

Does anyone else remember when JCP&L used to have a tree company cut back branches and trees that looked like they could be a threat to lines in a storm? Guess that gave way to pressure for higher profits?

Bayhead shores.. two hours before the AM high on Sunday morning (about 8:30am south end of canal) Water came up over the top of dock about a foot shy of the top of the pilling at dead high. Had we suffered the 9ft surge the weather reports predicted, boat would have been in the living room.

Point Pleasant canal and Shore Blvd... tide was still 2 1/2 hours off dead high.

Keyport Municipal boat ramp

How did the ramp and floating docks make out in the storm?
Does anyone know if it will be open this weekend?

If I knew I had waterfront property I wouldn't have rented a slip.

Everyone is safe, just alot of water, not many limbs or trees down.
Lost power in West Windsor Sunday @ 1am, still out with a timeline from JCP&L by 9/4.
Basement flooded, barn flooded roads flooded. Water reciding, street no open, traffic lights still out this am, police directing traffic.

Got into Princeton, power on, computer on, oh what a life. Faculty road in Princeton, transformer sitting in right lane with orange conehead on top!

Makes you understand what most of the world lives like all the time. Be safe, hope to get out fishing shortly.

On Sunday afternoon I saw 1 side of the floating dock sitting in the parking lot...haven't been by since.

2 sailboats didn't fare too well either.

Re: Keyport Municipal boat ramp

Ramp looks fine and boats are launching. The floating dock you saw was removed from the fishing pier prior to the hurricane. It was placed on the other side of the boat ramp trailer but moved to the street by the flood.

South River..Pulled my ele. meter before my basement filled up and came through the floors in my house. New furnace and hot water heater are gone. Electric panel gone. Running off my generator for two days. Got all my good stuff out of the basement and up to the second floor. We evacuated during the storm. It could have been worse.
